I know this is very niche subject, but I'd love to see more designs and ideas for custom decorations on LTO! Older tape generations are perfect for stuff like this and are also relatively cheap. With capacities starting from 100GiB on LTO1 up to 800GiB uncompressed on LTO4 you can write pretty much anything you like! Archive your media, games, keep two or three copies of it! Go crazy! If there's one interface I'd advise against, it's FibreChannel. Unless you have ready fabric infrastructure, you will need to buy it. It's not expensive, but it does add to your equipment count, power usage and so on. I forgot to talk about SCSI cables and terminators, but you should be fine if you get simple p2p SCSI cable. That, or you can buy the SCSI terminator cheap anyway.
