🐷 Turning a Fish Pond into a Playground for Pigs – A Creative Farming Solution! Welcome back to the farm! In today’s video, I take you through a unique and practical idea: transforming my fish pond into a temporary play area for pigs. Since the pond won’t be stocked with fish for another 6–7 months, I decided to make the most of this idle time. I begin by tearing down a small section of the pond wall and building a sturdy wooden bridge leading into the pond. This allows my pigs to safely walk down and roam freely. But there’s more than just fun involved — letting the pigs dig and play in the pond helps till and dry the soil naturally under the sun, preparing it for future use. To reassure those concerned about hygiene: the pigs will only stay for a short period, and the pond will be fully cleaned and disinfected before fish are reintroduced. This method also allows me to clean and disinfect the pigsty more easily while they’re outdoors. Later in the video, I harvest fresh cassava and corn from the garden, two of the pigs’ favorite foods. Everything is done manually — from digging up cassava roots to peeling, slicing, and cooking them over a fire. You’ll see the whole farm-to-feed process in action. 📺 What you'll learn from this video: Smart use of idle pond time in farming How to build a safe wooden bridge for animals Feeding pigs with homegrown cassava and corn Natural soil tilling using pig activity Sustainable farming and self-sufficient living 💬 If you enjoy innovative rural life content, don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more hands-on farming ideas, natural livestock care, and peaceful countryside living. ------------------------------------- © Copyright belongs to Primitiveskills.net #primitiveskills #offgridliving #livingoffgrid #offgridcabin #homestead #cabin #logcabins #selfreliance
