Stayed a few days in Portland, Oregon. Filmed the space between the thoughts. This is what I got. Paired it with a song called SLABTOWN—a neighborhood in the Alphabet District (I think). I kept seeing the name on buildings anyway. There’s a vibe to this town. A lot to discover. Coffee shops on every corner. Walkable. Thinkable. Chill. People wear beanies this time of year. Or maybe all year. Hard to tell. I’m just passing through. Saw a lot of dogs being walked. Purple hair seems to be in fashion. Took a drive up to Washington Park. It’s all there—an arboretum, a Japanese garden, a zoo, a veterans memorial, and even a test garden for roses. Portland’s known as the Rose City, which I only just learned. You won’t see a lot of color in this video. It’s more abstract. Gray. Rainy-day stuff. Though the weather was actually kind of nice. I like this song. It’s catchy. Has a bit of an Over the Rainbow cadence to it. I could see myself staying longer. A mini séjour, maybe. Long-term though… I’m drawn to warmer weather. Must be something in my Southern California DNA.
