Do you own a massage gun but don't know how to use it? Do you wonder what massage heads or accessories to use? Then this video is for you. In this video, Dr. Karin explains how to use the LifePro massage gun. It's not that we endorse this product, it just happened to be the massage gun one of her patients brought in to have Dr. Karin explain how to use. Since it had many massage heads, it made a great massage gun to use in this video. As always, before you take advice from any video, check with your healthcare provider to confirm it is appropriate for your specific condition. Check the safety manual of your specific massage gun. Dr. Karin talks about the round head, the hexagon head, the shovel, the spinal, the bullet, the flat head, a shock absorbing flat head, as well as metal heads that are cone shaped, bullet shaped and flat. To recap: The round head is soft and good to start with as it is gentle. It can be used on large muscles to soften the tissues and knots. The hexagon head has a smaller contact point so can be used for knots of bigger muscles. The shovel is great for long muscles and for lymphatic drainage. The spinal is great to run up and down the spine as you can use to the two heads to work on the muscles on either side of the spine (the paraspinal muscles). The bullet is good for targeting more stubborn knots or knots in smaller muscles. As for the metal heads, they can be used directly on oiled up skin. After you soften the region with the softer heads, you can lotion or oil up the skin, so you can use the flat metal head to work directly on the tender region. Then use the metal bullet head on trigger points or metal cone head to get to harder to reach knots. By Dr. Karin Drummond, owner of Drummond Chiropractic.
