Appendix/Postlude: 47:43 All is lost, then remade. ************** ************** Yveline is actually a modernized hero and archetype in Joseph Campbell's "Hero's Journey" universe. From Beauclair to Novigrad she is cleaning up, and also understanding, through Iris and Oligerd von Everec and ultimately Guillaume de Launfal, the complex interplay of emotions that life presents. "Yveline" is an attempt to create a machinima that not only reflects the excitement and beauty of "The Witcher 3" game/world, but is also deeply humanistic, as is the game itself. As I state in the appendix section of the film, I have always considered myself a video "worlder" rather than gamer. To me, the Witcher3 presented itself as nothing less than an uncompiled movie. With my development of the alternative character Yveline, the need to compile that movie into a new story became apparent. Disclaimer: I changed the main character from Geralt to “Yveline”. I based Yveline only on the physical appearance of the Witcher3 character “Anna Henrietta”, nothing more. The character of Yveline is my own creation, utilizing imagery, music, and storyline adaptations from the "Witcher3", with a generous go-ahead from CD Projekt Red. This is fan work only. I was so struck by the expressiveness of the new character's face, a mix of the best of Geralt and Anna Henrietta, that I knew right then and there I had to do a character study of her. I’d never seen such an expressive face in a video game/world before. This is a story from “the world” of the Witcher3, and what a world it is. It might exist in the world of the Geralt stories, yet it might not. Ultimately, I hope it does not matter.
