Pilates Reformer Breakdown: Stomach Massage - Round & Arms Back

This new series will explore the exercises we all start with on the Pilates Reformer. In this video we will explore the Pilates Exercise that we all love to hate...Stomach Massage. There are 4 parts, today we will be visiting Round and Arms Back. The Reformer is a piece of equipment used in many Pilates Studios but is also available for home use. This series is designed to give you an in-depth breakdown of the exercises, including breath, set-up, full demo and a few modifications you can use to make it more accessible for anyone. Some common challenges will be explained, but each person is on their own journey, and your next best step forward might be to book a session with a qualified Pilates teacher and have a few private sessions. This could help you find any of your personal challenges and movement patterns. ➿ Springs: for Round it is 4 Full and for Arms Back it is 3 Full, but you do you! You may find lowering the springs by a half or even a full spring will allow you to complete the exercise with better form. No pressure to do the full springs, it is more important to perform it well. 📋 Notes: Reformer used is the Peak Artistry TWS with vegan straps, resistance-ride springs/wheels. It has 5 springs, 4 of the same strength and the middle being a half spring weight. Our spring suggestions are for "this" Reformer. You will have to play a bit with your own Reformer to find what works for you.
