[Interview] S.Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha(강경화) "our goal is complete denuclearization"

Kang Kyung-wha, the first female South Korean Foreign Minister, gave an exclusive interview with KOREA NOW, an official English YouTube channel of Yonhap News Agency. She forecast the upcoming second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un next month, if it happens, will be a very important milestone that further builds upon the developments of last year, when we were able to make a huge switch from a situation of confrontation and rising tension to one of dialogue and peaceful resolution. She also said sanctions are in place because of North Korea's nuclear and missile development, and therefore sanctions relief is dependent upon North Korea's actions on its nuclear and missile development. She uttered the necessity of replacing the armistice with formal peace beyond South and North Korea. Regarding issues of elderly victims of Japanese colonial era abuses, she put emphasis on a victims-centered approach.
