The US-Israel war on Iran has disrupted energy supplies across Asia, the world's biggest consumer of Gulf crude oil. Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz since the conflict began, blocking roughly 20 percent of global oil and gas shipments that pass through the corridor. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are invoking emergency measures and turning to alternative suppliers, while China has stockpiled reserves and maintains access to Iranian and Russian oil. Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia have introduced fuel caps, vouchers and subsidies to shield consumers from rising prices, while Vietnam and the Philippines face critical shortages.
