I've found reference to him in Earl Nightingale's "The Strangest Secret", as well as direct quotes in other books. For just a few thousand words - something which would barely pass muster as an ebook these days - he set the foundation for the "thought-creates.-reality" movement. If it weren't for James Allen, "The Secret" movie probably would never have happened. On the other hand, the material he covers is mentioned in the oldest-known philosophy, Huna. And even though teaching that belief-system was forbidden by Western laws until the 1970's, I'm sure it would have broken through just as it did. "Everything happens for a reason" is what I've been told. And this is simply another version of serendipitous synchronicity, or "happy accidents" from circumstantial events. You'd take this further to the definition of luck - "opportunity met with preparation". This then brings up the point what your mind is much like a musical instrument, where you tune it to bring out the harmony possible - and that when played by one who has practiced hours, days, months, years on end, who then can bring out the melodies which "move men's souls" and "calm the savage beast" with their power. And yet further, such a finely tuned instrument can even be used to create those same masterworks which transcend any pop culture or fad. This is the point of learning to control your thoughts - to focus your concentration according to your purpose and your vision in order to bring your dreams to reality. All I have done up to this point has been to discover, collate, distill, and publish these authors and their written masterworks for you to discover newly in this time. For there is nothing in this universe, regardless of the continuing dire predictions which rush out on a regular schedule - nothing which can beat down the spirit of humankind.
