What happens when students are not only heard, but lead the conversation about their own education? In this powerful session, Jasmine Cox and a panel of extraordinary student leaders took the mic and shared unfiltered insights from their own learning journeys. These voices—from elementary through high school, across traditional classrooms, alternative programs, and microschool collectives—described how strengths and asset-based learning shaped their confidence, their choices, and their future goals. Too often, education is defined by deficits. This webinar shifted that narrative. Students explained how Thrively’s strengths-based tools gave them language to describe who they are, visibility into their talents, and the confidence to see themselves as capable leaders of their learning. They shared how having their strengths recognized changed the way they approached challenges, built relationships, and set goals for the future. This was more than a conversation—it was a demonstration of student agency in action. Students showed how Thrively’s focus on strengths and hope helped them persevere, how asset-based learning environments inspired ownership, and how having their voices amplified made them feel seen and valued. Their stories reminded us that when schools focus on what is strong instead of what is wrong, students thrive. What viewers took away from this webinar: How a strengths-based approach transformed students’ learning journeys How recognizing assets and talents built student confidence, motivation, and perseverance How Thrively’s tools provided students with language and visibility into their unique strengths Ways to move beyond deficit models and create environments where every student thrives Actionable strategies to ensure student voice and agency drive learning and school culture
