For the May edition of Africa Disciplined Agile Meetup, we looked at the topic "The DA Approach of Guided Continuous Improvement Guided continuous improvement (GCI) increases the chance of successful experiments. Adopting a prescriptive agile method may give organisations the initial kick-start required for developing their Ways of Working, this often leads to “method prison.” The organizations that break out of “method prison” use the kaizen-based continuous improvement approach that we call guided continuous improvement (GCI). Tonight, Shrihari Alawani took us through the concept of guided continuous improvement with respect to Disciplined Agile. Shrihari touched on the fundamental concept of GCI; he will share how teams experiment with the technique and learn about new ways of working (WoW) to increase their overall effectiveness. He also shared practical applications of the concept to real-life contexts. Shrihari Alawani is based out of Pune, India and works for one of the largest banks heading Engineering Practice for India. Shrihari is passionate about Business Agility and Enterprise Agility and is a recognized practitioner of Disciplined Agile. He holds DAVSC and DAC credentials from PMI and is passionate about sharing the experience and constantly learning with like-minded and diverse communities.
