We do things differently than most - we don't follow trends or feedback loop echo chamber internet articles... we do what works for our farm and what makes sense for us. For tincture, we dry the flowers then shuck them to create the magical biomass for our olive oil tinctures. We want as little leaf as possible in the material that is soaked in olive oil for our tinctures. Now that we will start selling flower through our onsite Farm Retail Dispensary, we are going to start setting aside the primo flowers for to be processed for packaged flower... BUT, we are NOT going to do a tight trim. I personally think the tight trim is an extremely time consuming and expensive process that is purely for VANITY REASONS, and does not add tot he quality of the smoke - it only adds unnecessary cost to the end product - that you end up grinding up anyway. I personally enjoy flicking the little tiny leaves off as I prepare to grind my flower for consumption... and I prefer flowers that still look like they came from a plant - still connected to the source - over the tightly shaved nug look.... plus, I prefer the minimal amount of handling of my flower instead of multiple hands and machines all touching my flowers to achieve a VANITY look. IMO - the closer we get to connecting flowers to the plant, instead of overprocessing them so they are hardly recognizable as coming from a plant - leaving some small leaves on provides for a more rustic, artisan, and natural experience.... and if you want a tight trim, you can always do it yourself.... without paying me to do industrially do the trim. We can save consumers a lot of cost by only doing a loose trim.... That is my opinion. I think the entire cannabis scene has been hijacked by VANITY and beauty pageant state of mind, chasing hype and luxury.... and my opinion is that cannabis is best experienced as humble appreciation of nature that really has nothing to do with award competitions, glamour photos, and ego flexes of having the highest THC or winning the most competitions or scoring the highest points.... no thanks And if finding a few leaves on your flower, or even a seed is offensive to you - there is plenty of tight trimmed industrial superficial vanity flower available at dispensaries for ya - peace
