Working with light, water and sound to find artistic potential within his environment, American artist Lachlan Turczan has developed his practice in collaboration with nature, using technological interventions to explore the optical and sonic properties of water. Searching for moments where water appears in traditionally arid landscapes, his work takes him into California’s Mojave Desert, creating ephemeral water and light sculptures around rare desert lakes, or steam rising from thermal hot springs.
