Chavand Fort Many forts constructed in Pune was to guard the commercial trade route of Naneghat for thousand of years. This includes the forts : Jeevdhan, Hadsar, Malhargad and Chavand. Chavand being one of them is very significant. Situated at a height of 3495ft above sea level, the fort is located at Chavandwadi Village, Tehsil : Junnar, District : Pune, Maharashtra, India. Saptamatrika: We can see 7 water tanks aligned to each other and their names are Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrayani and Chamunda the most powerful goddess of all. Trek duration from the base (Chavandwadi Village) :- 1 hour aprox. Where it is ? The fort is 17 km away from Junnar ST stand. From Junnar you can catch ST bus which will drop you at Chavandwadi village. After 15 mins walk you reach to base of fort.
