The Coastal Electric Cooperative Foundation equips local middle school teams with car-building kits, enabling them to construct electric race cars in educational settings. These cars are then raced at Richmond Hill Middle Schools’ STEM Fest, an event sanctioned by Greenpower USA. Alternatively, teams have the freedom to design and build their own cars from scratch while adhering to Greenpower Education Trust's technical and sporting regulations. The program is designed to captivate students academically while developing crucial employability skills. By fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity, we prepare high school seniors for post-secondary education and the workforce with advanced manufacturing and engineering project management experience that is rarely found in the K-12 educational landscape.
