This gets me because I take crazy good care of my parrots; I know how to recognize signs that they aren’t doing well and I know how to take care of it/take them to the vet. For example, my new baby who was only 3 weeks, showed signs of illness the day we got her. She was less than a day— two at most— away from dying and we got her to the vet, nurtured her as best we could and she seems to be doing better. So far, so good. Gaining weight. Bonnie though? I had no time, no chance. Worst things about this: 1) Tiko, our Orange-winged Amazon, loves Golden Conures, maybe more than I do! And he adored Bonnie. He was so good to her- and now he’s alone. 2) Golden Conures are one of my favorite species- and I’ve lost mine.
