Judges 16 V4–31 Samson and Delilah tells the dramatic Bible story of the strongest man in Israel whose secret strength was discovered by the woman he loved. This powerful passage reveals how betrayal, temptation, and misplaced trust led to Samson’s fall—but also how God’s purpose was still fulfilled. In Judges 16:4–5, Samson falls in love with Delilah in the Valley of Sorek. The Philistine rulers approach her and offer a large reward if she can discover the secret of Samson’s supernatural strength. Throughout Judges 16:6–14, Delilah repeatedly asks Samson how he can be subdued. Samson misleads her several times, but the Philistines continue waiting nearby, hoping to capture him. Finally, in Judges 16:15–17, Delilah presses Samson daily until he reveals the truth: his strength comes from his Nazarite vow to God, symbolized by his uncut hair. While Samson sleeps, Delilah cuts his hair in Judges 16:19–20, and the Philistines capture him. In Judges 16:21, Samson is blinded and imprisoned. Yet Judges 16:22 gives a powerful hint of hope: But the hair of his head began to grow again. The story reaches its dramatic conclusion in Judges 16:28–30 when Samson prays to God one last time for strength. Standing between the pillars of the Philistine temple, he pushes with all his might, bringing down the temple and defeating Israel’s enemies. The story of Judges 16 V4–31 Samson and Delilah reminds us that even after failure, God’s grace and purpose can still work through our lives. It is a powerful lesson about strength, temptation, consequences, and redemption. 📖 Scripture: Judges 16:4–31 🙏 If this story encouraged you, leave a comment with a prayer request so our community can pray with you.
