The Cavorite X-7 is Horizon Aircraft’s bold answer to the limits of traditional helicopters and pure-electric eVTOLs. Using its patented fan-in-wing design, this hybrid-electric aircraft takes off vertically with concealed lift fans, then closes its wing panels in flight to become a clean, high-speed turboprop capable of reaching up to 450 km/h with a projected range of 800 km. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engine integrated into a hybrid system, the X-7 is designed to carry 1 pilot plus 6 passengers, with a useful load of up to 1,500 lbs. From regional transport and medevac to defense and remote operations, Horizon aims to combine helicopter versatility with airplane efficiency—while reducing operating costs and increasing range. With full-scale prototype assembly targeted in 2026 and flight testing planned for 2027, the Cavorite X-7 could become one of the most practical and realistic advanced air mobility platforms in development today.
