The world's a crazy place right now...seemed right to demo my 2014 Fender American Standard Stratocaster with the DiMarzio Area pickups loaded pick guard. It's got an Area '58 pickup in the neck, Area '67 in the middle position, and an Area '61 at the bridge. I arranged and recorded this old hymn "Be Thou My Vision" in my home studio. Used my Strat on all guitar parts. Sounds are from my HX Stomp with a Deluxe Reverb patch I set up. Bass is my Fender Mustang PJ through my MXR Bass DI+. DAW is Logic Pro X and drums are Logic. Area '58 The Area '58 offers excellent treble response and dynamics with little magnetic pull and virtually no hum. Area '67 In the middle position, the Area '67 pushes sounds like the single-coil pickups of the late '60s-bright and very clean. The Area '67 totally eliminates hum and offers reduced magnet pull for improved sustain and clarity. Area '61 Finally, the Area '61 in the bridge position brings a steely, yet woody sound to the table. As with the other two pickups, the Area '61 eliminates hum and features reduced magnet pull. These 3 guitar pickups combine to create unique, undeniably vintage tone.
