Gunner Stone takes you on this motovlog from the great state of Texas, through New Mexico, and into Colorado. From grasslands, over mountain passes, and avoiding multiple obstacles this motorcycle ride finishes at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The remote panhandle of Northern Texas is home to cows, horses, and wide-open grasslands, and the famous U Drop Inn (Tower Station) along Route 66. This building inspired the creators of Disney Pixar film Cars in 2006, and has been recreated at a Disney theme park. After a quick tour around U Drop Inn, it's back on the road. Initially planning to ride through New Mexico and explore Taos, a flood warning forces a turn to the North earlier than desired. Settling into the pace of the open road, Gunner walks you through his thoughts on riding, and how this form of two wheel therapy is one of the steps in Finding Freedom. The skies are magnificent! You'll catch a glimpse of what took over 7 hours to capture. Cloud structures, types, and everything ranging from peaceful elegant clouds to the most harsh are experienced. Part of the Santa Fe Trail is discussed during the crossing of Raton Pass. This mountain route divides New Mexico and Colorado. Once in Colorado the weather turn ominous. Gunner continues North and parallels a storm system for as long as possible before being forced into the middle of it on his motorcycle. Riding the motorcycle through sustained crosswinds of 30mph, with gusts to 50mph in driving rain, certainly was an obstacle to overcome. Doing it at 70+ mph was simply dangerous. One truck hydroplaned 100 meters ahead of him, and he observed it slide sideways hitting the guard rail with the front bumper then spin around and hit the rail again with the rear bumper. A different vehicle slightly ahead of him, crashed into another. These weren't the only obstacles. More challenging - albeit less dangerous was figuring out how to get a passport to leave the U.S. in less than 2 weeks. The solution to that problem will drive the route and timeline over the course of the next several videos. The 6000 mile service for his BMW was also scheduled while riding this leg of the trip. Fortunately the team at Colorado Springs Powersports had an opening the very next day, so the service appointment is the next item on his agenda. After overcoming all of the obstacles, and safely making it to Colorado Springs, Gunner shares the plan for the future from the beautiful grounds of the U.S. Air Force Academy. ________________________________ #adventure,#motorcycle,#motorcycle ride,#moto adventure,#motovlog ,#travel to alaska,#travel to Yukon
