Hey Everybody it's Brock and we got a brand new episode of All About! If you're new to the channel, I'm Brock and I worked in a fish store for many years and have been in the hobby researching fish, corals, and inverts for over 10 year now. We got a top 5 video today and we are diving into the world of eels! These predators are a big attraction to any saltwater hobbyists. You can find them dwelling in fowlr tanks filled with predators or even some among the reefs! Eels can range from lengths of 2 feet to upwards of 5 feet by adulthood in the tank setting, so you want to make sure you are ready for their size in the tank. If you've seen my All About videos of the eels you'll notice a major increase in price over the years! An eels typical tank setting will want some soft sand beds. Harder crushed coral beds can sometimes cause irritation on their skin as they swim across. You want a lot of live rock but you want it to be spaced out for them to sliver through. You don't want to just stack a tight wall of live rock in the tank and expect them to make home especially as they get bigger. Give them some larger caves and caverns to hide in and also spots you can poke food near so that they will come out to feast! Eels can be major escape artists so you want to make sure you have the top of your tank covered and overflows aren't easily accessible for them to get trapped in the filter. A small crack gives them all they need to try and get out to do some more exploring so if you're using glass lids, make sure to get those plastic strips that can help completely seal off the top. Stick to the end of the video and I'll tell you about a dream eel tank we built for a client that I would love to have for myself ---- MUSIC: Digya by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
