An important objective of NASA’s Apollo missions to the Moon was to collect lunar rock samples. The geology tools astronauts used were made to be lightweight, strong, and easy to operate while wearing a bulky spacesuit. Teams at NASA have redesigned these tools for upcoming Artemis missions, which will bring humans back to the Moon for the first time in decades.
