Murthy is a distinguished Materials Scientist whose career spans over three decades at CSIR–National Metallurgical Laboratory, operating at the intersection of Physics, Engineering and National service. With a strong academic foundation culminating in a PhD focused on amorphous magnetic alloys, his work translates microscopic scientific understanding into macroscopic reliability of mission-critical systems. Dr. Murthy has played a pivotal role in advancing materials characterization, non-destructive evaluation and remaining life assessment technologies, directly supporting strategic applications in Defence and Energy sectors. A recipient of the C. V. Raman Prize and the CSIR Technology Award, he is also a dedicated mentor and educator, embodying the true spirit of coalescence—where science, service, and stewardship converge to build lasting impact.
