That meant no more new Eggstone songs—no more if the sad crooning vocals they're known for. How could I change that? I figured I should just ask Eggstone's singer Per Sunding if he would lend his characteristic tenor to one of MY songs. There's a happy ending. Per did TWO duets with me—this song, and "Sad Colored Glasses." AND AND AND Eggstone got back together and released a few new songs! (I had the honor of photographing the Eggstone reunion concerts in Sweden and Denmark.) WAIT, it gets even BETTER. Per Sunding, Doug Wyatt, and I have been working with Ludwig Böss (Band of Horses, Ray Wonder) at Per's studio—Tambourine Studio, Sweden—to make an EP of cover songs. Talk about a dream come true! Music and lyrics by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Lead vocals performed by Justin Winokur with Per Sunding. Guitar by Justin Winokur. Keyboards by Doug Wyatt. Background vocals, bass guitar, feedback tape loops, and all the other strange and beautiful instrumentation by Christoffer Lundquist. Executive producers: Doug Wyatt, Snookie Montfort, Dave Oppenheim Produced in Sweden by Christoffer Lundquist. (Christoffer is the bass player and singer of the Grammy-winning Swedish indie pop darling band Brainpool. He is the guitar player for Roxette, Per Gessle, Doug Wyatt, and...me, Justin Winokur!) A&R: Mark Mazzetti The video was made in Turkey.
