Set aside until bubbly. Pour it into a mixing bowl oil, half the beaten egg, 1 tbsp milk and sugar Add flour, ground cinnamon and salt. Stir with spatula Knead with hands for 15-20 minutes. The dough should be smooth, elastic and sticky a little. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size. Prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine applesauce, flour, cinnamon and sugar, then mix well. Let rest into the fridge. Roll the dough: Turn the dough out on a floured surface and roll it out to a 40 x 50 cm rectangle (35 x 40 is ok too).NOTE: if too sticky, add flour. Pay attention to the bottom of the dough, it doesn't have to stick to the surface, otherwise you'll make a mess. Spread the filling over the rolled-out dough, using a spatula. Tightly roll dough up. Cut into 1 inch sections with a knife or floss. You should get 12 large pieces. Place cinnamon rolls in a baking pan. (I also recommend lining the pan with parchment paper as well, in case any of the filling ends up leaking out.) Cover with plastic wrap and a warm towel and let rise again for 30-45 minutes Preheat the oven to 390 F (200°C) Brush each cardamom bun with half the beaten egg. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden. Brush rolls with syrup (1 tbsp honey/ rice syrup + 1 tbsp water) ENJOY!
