19-year-old Alexandra Eala of Philippines staged the biggest upset of her career when she beat the Australian Open champion and world no 5 Madison Keys in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the third round of the Miami Open on Sunday. Eala is first Filipino player in the Open Era to score a WTA Top 10 win since the ranking system came into being in 1975. Eala is the first player ranked outside the Top 100 to reach the Round of 16 in a WTA 1000 event this season. Eala has been a student of Rafael Nadal Academy in Majorca, Spain for the past seven years and had already beaten another Grand Slam champion, Jelena Ostapenko in the previous round. Eala will take on Paula Badosa in the quarter finals
