진우도 서낙동강 하류에 낙동강의 퇴적 작용으로 만들어진 면적 약 0.8km²의 무인도입니다. 부산에서 3번째로 큰 섬이고 행정구역상 부산광역시 강서구 신호동에 속하지만, 신호동의 뭍에서 남쪽으로 약 1.5km 떨어져 있고, 섬의 서쪽에 있는 눌차도와는 400m 거리로 가덕도동과 더 가깝습니다. 현재는 생태보호 및 문화재보호 명목 하에 입도할 수 없는 섬으로 지정되어있으며, 때문에 도둑게와 금모래밭과 같은 자연환경이 잘 보존되어 있습니다 진우도에서 가덕도와 신호동을 오가는 걷기길이 2021년 예산안에 통과되어서 장차 일반인의 출입이 가능해질 가능성이 있다.
