This Wantan Mee tastes a lot like the one from Pontian Wantan Mee which is a franchise that has branches all over Singapore. It is a Malaysian style noodle recipe. (Pontian is a district in Southwest Johor, Malaysia.) My brother (aka the Director/Video Editor) says it tastes slightly better so I'm glad the recipe turned out well. lol We ended up making enough for 5-6 servings so we were really full after the meal. This is a real simple idiot-proof (yes i promise lol) recipe for asians living abroad who want to have a taste of home. It's a great dish if you have guests over and want to impress :P. If it's difficult to get the other ingredients for the noodles itself, just roast the charsiu and have it with rice and cucumbers (We did that with our leftovers for lunch the next day!). Ingredients: For the Charsiu: 700g Pork Shoulder 3 tbsp Hoisin Sauce 1 tbsp Rose Wine 3 tbsp light soy sauce 2 tbsp dark soy sauce 2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp honey 1 tsp sesame oil 3 tbsp water dash of pepper For the Noodles: Sauce 1 tbsp Sweet Sauce 2 tbsp Ketchup 1 tsp Sesame Oil 1 tbsp Light Sauce 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce 1 tsp Sambal (optional) Frozen Wantan (I've made my own before, I feel that they are not quite worth the hassle!) Choy Sum Jalapenos/ Green Chilli (at the side)
