PSY Gangnam Style Parody (강남스타일 패러디)--Homework Hangook Style (original) Best Parody

(이영어 기술의 바로 밑에 한국어 번역 있습니다) This is a video several fellow students and I (all military members representing all the services) made while learning Korean at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. It was produced, filmed and edited by an Airman, performed by a soldier and features Seamen as additional performers. And yes, there is one Marine in there too; so all services are represented (minus the Coast Guard—sorry, coasties). It's an obvious homage to "Oppan Gangnam Style" by PSY. Initially we were going to make an exaggerated account about how miserable our lives at DLI were while we were learning Korean: no social life, no sleep, more homework than any mere mortal could ever accomplish in a given day; however, when the camera started rolling, we began to experience an unexplained increase in morale. We smiled for the first time in months, and we started actually looking forward to each day. What we wound up capturing on film were some of our most memorable, and enjoyable, moments learning Korean at DLI. As much fun as it was, don't let the video fool you--we didn't get to spend class time making this. All of our filming was done after hours and on weekends over the course of about a month (so about 4 Saturdays). Mainly, the time spent to film, edit and record the audio for this came out of our sleep. We created this video as an entry to the 2012 DLI Hangeul Nal (Korean Language Day) video contest. We placed 3rd. In all fairness, the two videos that beat us out were pretty good (albeit not as tight cinematically). I hope you enjoy this video and feel free to leave any comments. Also...a big shout out to PSY for making a great video that has been much emulated and parodied around the world. 이 뮤직비디오는 국방외국어대학 (DLI)에서 저와 동료 학생들이 한국어를 공부 하는 동안 만든 것입니다. 이 동영상은 싸이의 "강남 스타일"에 대한 오마쥬입니다. 처음에는 DLI에서 한국어를 공부하는 동안 우리학생들의 생활이 얼마나 비참한가를 과장 되게 표현하려고 했습니다: DLI에서는 친구랑 놀 시간도 없고, 잘 시간도 없고, 평범한 학생이 도저히 하루에 끝내기 어려운 양의 숙제를 매일 해야 됩니다. (한국의 고3 같아요.) 하지만, 촬영 카메라가 돌아가기 시작하면서 설명 할 수 없게도 사기와 의욕이 오르는 것을 경험했습니다. 수 개월 만에 처음으로 웃음을 지었고 실제로 하루하루를 기대 하게 되었습니다. 결과적으로 우리가 이동영상 안에 찍은 것은 DLI에서 한국어를 배우는 동안 가장 기억에 남고 즐거운 순간들 입니다. 재미있었던 만큼, 이 동영상을 보면서 오해하지 마시길 바랍니다. 우리는 이 영상을 만들면서 스업일 빼먹지 않았습니다. 우리의 촬영은 약 한달여에 걸쳐서 모두 방돠후와 주말에 하였습니다. (약 4번의 토요일이 소요되었습니다. 우리는 이 동영상을 DLI의 2012년 한글날 기념 비디오 콘테스트에 출픔하기 위해 만들었습니다. 으리의 이 뮤직비디오는 3등을 했습니다. 공정하게 봐서, 우리를 앞선 두 비디오 작품을은 상당히 괜첞았습니다.
