My adventure in Saigon and Phan Ri Cua was nothing short of life-changing. In Phan Ri Cua, I immersed myself in the local Vietnamese culture as a volunteer English teacher, where I not only experienced their way of life but also found myself embraced by new friends and what felt like an extended family. Everyday moments became unforgettable—from my daily motorbike rides through the town, breathing in the fresh air, to indulging in the freshest seafood and an abundance of vegetables. I discovered new favorites like cà phê sữa, cà phê đen, fresh yogurt, and the sweetest coconut juice I’ve ever tasted. The locals’ friendliness and hospitality made me feel truly at home; I built genuine connections with restaurant and café owners, who quickly became friends. And of course, the students - Oh I became so attached to them. They are all so adorable, and sweet and all of them are eager to learn English - which makes my wok so easy and I really had fun and spent amazing times with them. On a personal note, I embraced new beginnings—getting three tattoos, coloring my hair for a fresh look, and even finding a local yoga studio where I practiced, shared energy, and formed lasting bonds with both students and teachers. Even now, I keep in touch with the wonderful friends I made, and their kindness continues to inspire me. This journey was more than just travel—it was a heartfelt cultural exchange, a celebration of connection, and an experience I will forever treasure. Given the chance, I would return in a heartbeat.
