2x4 Kit Assembly

This video demonstrates how to assemble a 2x2 or 2x4 retrofit kit. Pre-assembly of kits can save the installer time at the job site. Step 1: Extend blue and red wires fully. Step 2: Cut the red wire approximately 3 inches beyond the end of the blue wires. You should now have a new red wire about 14 inches long. Step 3: Strip the insulation from both ends, created by the cut you just made. Step 4: Insert independent red wire in to two monuments. It does not matter which hole you insert the wire in to. Step 5: Insert the red wire, attached to the ballast, in to either of the monuments. You should now have one monument with one red wire leading in to it, and one with two. Step 6: Attach monuments to socket-mover metal, the small stub-end of the monument will fit comfortably under ledge. The rear of the monument should be flush with the edge of the socket-mover metal. You may hear a click when it is correctly inserted. Step 7: Pull the two red wires together at the center of the socket-mover metal. Twist together once, creating a loop in the center. Pull the third red wire to the center also and twist all three red wires together to secure their position for installation. Step 8: Insert the blue wires in to the two unused monuments and affix the monuments to the unused socket-mover metal. Step 9: Pull the two blue wires together at the center of the socket-mover metal, twisting to secure their position. Folding the wires in together will allow you to store the greatest number of kits in the same storage container. Step 10: Attach the ballast disconnect to the black and white wires. Insert the black wire in to the hole with a black square and number 1. Insert the white wire in to the hole with a blank square and a number 2.
