Patients with lower Killip class are less likely to die within the first 30 days of having a heart attack. However, the higher the class, the higher the mortality. Killip class I, includes individuals with no clinical signs of heart failure and no signs of lung crepts. Their 30-day mortality rate is around 6 per cent. In Killip class two, the patients have mild to moderate heart failure. That means, they will have symptoms and signs of heart failure such as S 3 gallop rhythm, lung rales and jugular venous distension. Pulmonary crepts will be present in half of the lungs. The systolic blood pressure remains above 90 mmHg. The 30-day mortality rate is around 17%. The patients with crepitation in all of the lung is categorized into Killip class III. Systolic blood pressure is above 90 mmHg & their mortality rate is around 38% Finally, in the killip class 4, the patients are in cardiogenic shock. they will have clinical features due to hypotension and peripheral vasoconstriction. The 30-day mortality rate is around 81%.
