In this video we do one of our first spring bee hive inspection. Beekeeping in Spring Is a very busy time for the beekeeper. At this time of year we see a lot of things in beehives. Bees and queens die in spring. Any kind of queen problems over the winter the bees are likely to die out in spring. Its at this time of year bees need extra space, adding a honey super to a bee hive is crucial at this time of year. Honeybees will be rapidly growing in size now if they are not given extra space they are more likely going to swarm. The spring honey flow is about to start now too. More of a reason to be adding those honey supers! Depending where you live you may not get a lot of spring honey. This honey however is crucial for the bees.
