Stradella bass system has only M Major, m minor, 7 seventh, and o diminished chords. To play jazz, we need to learn how to combine those simple chords together, so they produce nice sophisticated sound of proper Jazz Harmony. In the video you can see common jazz harmony symbols (like E7-9, used for any musical instrument). Below them - how to play those jazzy chords with the Left Hand of accordion. (It is a very condensed, fast paced video full of information for total beginners as well as practicing accordion professionals, so you will have to pause, watch, think and study a lot) To finger these complex harmonies on accordion often you have to press the Bass button and 2 different chords simultaneously. For example, to play Gmaj9 harmony press bass G at the same time with Gmajor chord and Dmajor chord. Or, to play Eb9 play bass Eb together with Bbm chord and Bbdim chord.
