St. Thomas Grand Kjelleren, Egersund, Norway July 4th 2003 My all-time favorite St. Thomas show, for very simple reasons; an evening of a festival in my hometown that I helped book, featuring my friend Thomas - one of the most popular artists in the country at the time - dedicating the show to... me. Therefore this one has always held a dear place in my heart. Unfortunately, though it is my favorite show, it is also the absolutely worst quality of any live performance I have ever shot... I had borrowed a so-called professional camera, which gave excellent results the following day at the Quart festival - in daylight. In a dark basement, the camera did not work very well, and the audio is bad. Thankfully, I recorded the show on MiniDisc from the soundboard, a MiniDisc that got lost in the archives, mislabeled for 17 years... until it showed up when transferring tapes for another project! In addition to being a much beloved memory for me personally, it is also special in that it is maybe the only performance done by Thomas and his musical mentor Filip Ring as a duo. Filip was the first person to discover St. Thomas and release his music, and performed as Ring before the St. Thomas show, then joined Thomas on drums, vocals and dance. At this time, St. Thomas was normally Thomas and Karim Sayed as a duo, but Karim had to travel home for a school exam, and Thomas did two shows without him. Sorry for the bad video quality, but I hope the audio quality and the very special setlist makes it worth giving this a listen.
