Is the emission related problems that can happen because this is a modern diesel engine and these things are likely happen at lease once through the lifetime of the engine. the BEST thing you can do is drive the truck and get the emission system up to temp. that tends to yield the best results in terms of reliability for emissions. 2. is oil leak, this 3L duramax is notorious for having engine oil leaks in multiple locations but main of them like a rear main seal are at the back of the engine can the transmission needs to be removed which makes it a very large task to fix. 3. is the rubber oil pump belt, this is not really an issue or common problem but something that really makes people uncomfortable and GM did extend the lifespan of this rubber oil pump belt to 200k miles but I would of just licked an oil fashion oil pump chain. 4. the LM2 duramax was pretty bad for oil consumption 00:00 - Intro 01:04 - Emission Related Problems 03:31 - Oil Leaks 06:06 - Rubber Oil Pump Belt 07:37 - Oil Consumption/Burning Oil 10:56 - Timing Chain Concerns?
