A documentary made on the streets of Manchester. I talked to people that were sleeping on the streets to raise awareness for the struggles that people are going through and to hopefully inspire people to be more kind to those going through tough times, and hope to bring about change. The first person that I met was Mike. Mike had slept rough on the streets for a long time. At one point things had got so cold that he got buried in the snow. Now Mike was staying in a hostel. He was concerned that there were other people in the Hostel that didn't seem great. But Mike was hoping that he could get his own place, so that he could see his child again. I met a great guy called Ash who had been through a lot. He seemed to have came to England to escape a war. He hasn't been able to claim any benefits or housing, but he has created a lovely peaceful home for himself. He loved coffee and seemed really passionate about animals. Even though he loves dogs, he didn't want to get a dog himself, because he was worried that because he was on the streets, he might not be able to care for the dog properly. The next person that I met was Thomas. Thomas was extremely kind and such a fun, happy guy. He loved painting and artwork. Particularly buildings. He said that painting and art made him feel safe. It distracted him and helps him not commit crimes and things like that. Finally I met someone called Chris. Chris had been going through a really tough time in Manchester. After the tragic loss of his brother, Chris was struggling on the streets. His trousers were broken, his sleeping bag was ripped. He was worried about crime that was going on around him, and generally seemed to feel that there wasn't enough support. You can make a difference. Sometimes even just taking the time to have a conversation with someone that is on the streets can brighten someones day. Donate to Crisis Homeless Charity: https://www.crisis.org.uk/get-involve...
