It seems like there are simply no more rules at Miss Universe nowadays. Miss Universe have gotten rid of the age limit recently and furtermore have started allowing mothers and wive, etc, since last year. This year, Miss Universe Colombia (Camilla Avello) and Miss Universe Guatemala (Michelle Cohn) will be the first two mothers to LEGALLY compete at Miss Universe. Furthermore, Nepal is breaking an unspoken rule at Miss Universe which has to do with body size by sending the first truly plus sized contestant: Jade Dipika who was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2023. After what happened to Siera Bearchell who was Miss Universe Canada in 2016 and Harnaaz Sandhu who was Miss Universe 2021, I hope we can all diversify our perspectives. Miss Universe Portugal 2023 (Marina Machete) and Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 (Rikkie Kollé) are both Trans women. Trans women are allowed at Miss Universe since 2012 and the first (and until now only) Trans woman to compete at Miss Universe was Miss Universe Spain 2018 Angela Ponce.
