Longford Dairy farmer Enda Farrell, who farms in Carrickedmond, Co. Longford along with his father Kevin, is featured in a Teagasc video demonstrating the progress of his new white and red clover reseeds from sowing to establishment. James Mimnagh, Local Teagasc Sustainability Advisor, visited the farm during June and July this year to see the progress of the two new reseeds. Despite the lack of rain for most of May the White clover sward has established successfully and has already been grazed twice by Enda’s cows. The Red Clover was sown in perfect conditions in June and was cut for silage during the first week of August. Enda and Kevin’s farm is currently part of the Teagasc/Lakeland Dairies Joint Development Programme it is also a regional Teagasc Signpost programme farm.
