Our story begins with its founder, the prophet Mani, and his grand vision to unite all faiths into one. We explore the breathtaking Manichaean mythos: the story of two eternal kingdoms, one of Light and one of Darkness, and the cosmic tragedy that trapped the divine Light in our material world. We uncover their unique belief that the universe itself is a machine built to rescue God, and that humanity was created by demons as the ultimate prison for the soul. We then explore the structure of their church—the ascetic "Elect" who lived lives of perfect purity, and the "Hearers" who supported them.
