Science in the Stratosphere

While the current pandemic has caused Airbus Perlan Mission II to cancel its 2020 flight testing in Argentina, we’ve been pursuing ways to continue our #science mission. We’ve been engaged in a number of projects, including partnering with @Airbus engineers to test a new experimental A3 sensor that will help us study climate at high #altitudes. This research, as well as other projects in development, have opened possibilities for Perlan 2 to take flight in the Sierra Nevada region of the United States in early 2021. Perlan is also in preliminary stages of negotiating with an organization in Europe to use the Perlan 2 sailplane as a zero-emissions research platform. Until then, we’re launching a new “Science in the Stratosphere” video series focused on how Perlan is a platform for science.
