Watch In HD, With Your Headphones/Reference Monitors On!... Drum Mics Test - Ronnie Matthew Manappallil Demo: What's Up? (Written By Andrew Tween & Jonathan Taylor) ------------------------------------- I was trying to test my new drum mikes as well as trying to polish my drum recording skills. I am not a drummer, but a great fan and lover of all percussion. Recording a drum kit is comparatively difficult as it is sonically a very complex instrument, but gives me great & immense pleasure to master this art! Still need to tame some of these mic's characteristics, especially the AKG C1000s, which is a BEAST! So the hi-hats are a bit too bright. (Forgot to change the polar patterns!!!) Sorry for the mistakes, the mix was in a hurry. Only bit of compression here & there, not much EQ anywhere! I have spent 3 hours to mic at sweet spots! So lucky to have some of the industry standard mics in my arsenal. _______________________________________________ Drum Kit: Ludwig Accent (5 Piece Kit) Hardware: Sabian B Pro Series (Crash, Ride & Hi-Hats) Mics: Snare - Shure SM57 Kick - AKG D 112 Hi-Hats - AKG C1000 S Tom 1 - AKG P3s Tom 2 - AKG P3s Floor Tom - AKG P3s Right Over Head - Behringer C-2 Left Over Head - Behringer C-2 Audio Interface: M-Audio M-Track Eight Tracked On: Cubase 7 Mixed On: Pro Tools 10 HD The Music Track (Without The Drum Parts) Is A Proprietary Work Of Trinity College London
