Can You Grow Sugar Cane in a Cold Country? WE DID! | How To

Ever since my father used to bring us home sugar cane from his business trips abroad I've always wondered if it's possible to grow it in cooler countries such as Latvia Well now we live in Latvia which is pretty cold by most standards I decided to give it a go and see what happened. I can report that It grew well, not amazingly well but good enough to produce sweet and edible sugar canes! Sugar cane grows in tropical and subtropical countries like the Caribbean, South America, and Thailand etc, it needs those long hot days to fully develop. In 2018 we left the UK to come to Gita’s family homestead here in north Latvia, not far from the Estonian border and now we live somewhere nowhere in the middle of a forest in a house built by Gita’s grandfather.
