The John Naka Memorial Bonsai Exhibit is a historic bonsai show, held for over 60 years (1959) in conjunction with the JACCC's (Japanese American Cultural Community Center) Nisei Week festival. Originally founded by John Naka, this exhibit, formerly called the Nanpukai Exhibit, represents a collection quality bonsai from the Southern California and greater bonsai community. As a community driven event, the Naka Memorial Exhibit is made possible by impassioned individuals who spend years to decades of their life cultivating these trees. Bonsai are able to embody time, and through an intergenerational hand off the legacy and history of these trees continue into the future. To ensure the future preservation of the Naka Memorial Exhibit, we need help. This is in the form of volunteers, potential exhibitors, and donors.
