Andy Geppert's passion for magnetic core memory lead him to create the Core64 -- an interactive 64-bit woven memory array that doubles as a touch screen thanks to the clever addition of RGB LEDs and a magnetic stylus. In his Supercon 2022 talk, Andy goes over the hows and whys of core memory, a staple of 60s and 70s computers that was perhaps most famously used on the Apollo spacecraft. He'll also explain the origins of his Core64 project, and how he's managed to turn this antiquated computer storage technology into an engaging gadget for users both young and old.
