If I have 30 Switches and 60 VLANs in my office. Normally I need to configure each switch separately and create those VLANs on each and every switch. That take more time and if any thing missing we will have some issues. To overcome with this we use VTP (Virtual LAN Trunking Protocol). • VTP will let you create VLANs in one switch and all the other switches will synchronize themselves. So First we need to put switch port in trunk mode which is connected to other switch's. For Switch 0 En Config t Hostname Switch0 Int f0/1 Switchport mode trunk Int f0/2 Switchport mode trunk For Switch 1 En Config t Hostname Switch1 Int f0/1 Switchport mode trunk For Switch 2 En Config t Hostname Switch2 Int f0/1 Switchport mode trunk Then now we will Configure Switch 1 as VTP Server in the VTP Domain abc vtp domain abc Vtp mode server To check we will type Sh vtp status Then we will create vlan in Server then it will come in all clients.
