All new for 2025 and Vortex Optics is brining an enclosed red dot to the market. The all new Vortex Viper Shotgun Enclosed Red Dot features a universal direct mount for multiple different shotguns or rifles. With the enclosed emitter shotgun red dot from Vortex it features a footprint to mount on any receiver which has been drilled and tapped. The red dot features either a multi reticle or a 3 MOA model and has a 50,000 Hour battery life with a 2032 battery. It has 10 minute auto shutoff, shake awake technology and is clearly built to take abuse. We tested its waterproof, shockproof and fog proof housing against 30 degree rainy/ winter conditions, and even fully submerged in a creek. For mounting we placed this on a Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus and a Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 ( SBE3) and then subjected the two dots to numerous 3 ½” Turkey Magnum 12 gauge shotgun loads. The dots never lost zero and held up like they should. The ultra low mounting system is lower than the Aimpoint Micro S1 and Scalarworks shotgun mounts. Even lower than what we had on our Beretta A300 Ultima patrol with Reptilia saddle mount. No matter what we did, this is the very best shotgun red dot on the market and any turkey hunting red couldn’t beat this. For turkey hunting shotgun red dots, this is perfect. For a duck hunting shotgun red dot, this is perfect. For tactical shotguns, this works on the A300 Ultimate patrol, Benelli M4, Benelli M2, Mossberg 940 Pro, Mossberg 930 and all popular pump guns.
