Hotel Review: Maritim Bonn, Hochkreuz, Bonn, North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany - August 2018. I stayed at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn, in August 2018, two of us stayed for 3 nights on a room only basis, which cost 189 Euro and 60 Cents. However, we were given free breakfasts each morning by means of apology by the hotel for the swimming pool being closed due to an ongoing refurbishment (I emailed the hotel and complained about the closure after reading about this on TripAdvisor, as at the time of booking this was not advertised). We were also given access to the swimming pool at the Maritim Hotel in nearby Konigswinter. The Maritim Bonn hotel is not a city centre hotel, it is situated in the suburb of Hochkreuz, and is around a 12 minute tram ride on the number 66 or 16 tram from Bonn Hauptbahnhof. The nearest station are Robert-Schumann-Platz (in front of the hotel) and Olof-Palme-Allee (behind the hotel). The hotel is situated in a mainly corporate and office based suburb, but there is good access on foot to local parkland, and the presence of the tram means that exploring is very easy. The hotel bedroom we had, room 430 (I requested a high floor with a good view) was excellent and newly refurbished. It had ample wardrobe and drawer storage space, mini bar, a huge super king sized bed, flat screen TV, air conditioning, desk area and comfy chair. It was a huge room and one that I was very happy with. The bathroom was beautiful, really modern and shiny. Mirrors with back lights, two sinks bath AND shower cubicle, which had an electric controlled shower with some great retro effect lighting. The only slight negative about this bathroom was the floor, which was very slippery with wet feet, so the lovely black shiny tiles had to be covered and hidden with towels. The hotel has an excellent bar, with FANTASTIC staff, so helpful, a big THANK YOU to Jarda (sorry if my spelling is wrong) and her colleagues. The bistro was very nice and the food excellent, as you will see in the film. The restaurant and breakfast buffet were large and of superb quality - no complaints at all. The gym was small but decent, although the treadmill didn't work. There was a small book library, and extensive event space, which we had a small explore of. All of the staff were a credit to the hotel, good English was spoken and customer service was of the highest standard. The ONLY real complaint that I have about this hotel is that the noise from the refurbishment was VERY LOUD, this wasn't a problem at the weekends, but on Monday morning we had a rude awakening by drilling. I would certainly stay at this hotel again in future, but not util all of the refurbishment work is completed.
