Learjet 45XR VT-SSK Crash at Baramati India! AIR Distress

On the 28th of January 2026 at 0810 local time, the Learjet with Tailnumber VT-SSK took-off from runway 27 at Mumbai with destination Baramati and climbed to FL190. 6 minutes later while still climbing to FL190, the crew got in contact with Pune radar. The crew informed Pune that they are about 38nm out of Baramati. Pune ATC cleared the Business Jet down to 6000’ and further asked to report when they are in contact with Baramati. This happened shortly thereafter so the ATC hand over took place smoothly. Baramati Tower requested to report 10 miles final for runway 11 and further transmitted the QNH to be 1020, calm winds an a visibility around 3000m. After a Go Around VSK lined up for a second appropach. The jet crashed shortly thereafter and was found left to treshold runway 11 completely destroyed due to the impact and the post fire. The only part which was left intact, was the empennage. All 5 occupants lost their lives. One passenger was a famous indian politician Ajit Pawar.
