Behold the power of the Pitch Bay, one of the baddest pitch-shift/tone-generator effects boxes on the scene right now, with a saxophone! EarthQuaker Devices take pride in making pedals that sound great on a huge range of instruments, not just guitar, and the Pitch Bay sounds every bit as dope on a saxophone as it does on a Strat. In this video, Brian from Progger explores Pitch Bay sounds that go from very useful rock-and-roll power chords and octaves to triads and outer-space clusters that will sound great in that indie sci-fi movie you've been working on. This pedal and many others will be heavily featured on Progger's upcoming record, to be released in early 2018! To keep tabs on that, and to check out our other records, pay a visit to our Bandcamp page: http://proggermusic.bandcamp.com In this video, Brian is playing his tenor saxophone into a regular-ass Shure SM58 all-purpose dynamic microphone, and from there into the wonderful Radial VocoLoco preamp/DI/effects loop. (This box makes it dreamily easily to use diverse effects pedals with a horn or voice.) The signal goes out from the VocoLoco through the Pitch Bay (and Space Spiral, used for extra cosmic slop) and then back into the VocoLoco. From there, our trusty direct output sends the signal to our audio interface, which brings everything into Logic Pro. The basic-ass video is courtesy of an iPhone 5. Still truckin'. In addition to playing giddily with EarthQuaker Devices pedals, Brian also uses Macsax saxophone mouthpieces, which are fantastic. Progger's awesome record label is Ropeadope Records, and that family of artists leads to no shortage of great music, so give them a visit as well: www.ropeadope.com www.proggermusic.com www.earthquakerdevices.com
